When we were commissioned to transform The Old Post Office, a historic building dating back to 1720, our brief was to breathe new life into the property and reconfigure it for modern family living while respecting its heritage.
The vision was to create a warm, characterful second home for our lovely clients, with practical storage solutions and plenty of space for visiting family.
Throughout the house, we layered natural textures and materials with bespoke joinery to highlight the building’s architectural details. Carefully sourced antiques sit alongside bespoke upholstery, creating a lived-in yet refined atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming.
The kitchen and dining areas were designed with a relaxed, modern farmhouse sensibility, featuring new limestone floors, a bespoke antique-style cabinet with hidden drinks fridge, and soft, earthy tones inspired by the surrounding Wiltshire countryside.
Upstairs, the bedrooms were reimagined with a calming palette, a new shower room was added, and original flooring was uncovered and restored.
The result is a considered renovation that honours the building’s history while making it truly personal to its owners — an example of our ethos: timeless, characterful interiors that stand the test of time. We are thrilled to be working on stage 2 of the project, with an outbuilding conversion commencing late 2025.
